Tark Series Deep Dive

Hey, readers. I thought it would be cool to do a deep dive post into the Tark series. For those not in the know, it's a completed fantasy series of seven books, currently all in ebook form on Amazon.
What is the Tark series?
The Magical Misadventures of Tark is a humorous fantasy series. It's got plenty of the comedy I love: physical comedy, irony, and the absurd. But I also wanted to make it a character-rich story, with arcs for most of the central cast.
Who are the characters?
The main guy is obviously Tark. He's a shabby-robed stoner wizard, and when we first meet him he's barely hanging onto his job at Wizmart, the magical convenience store owned and ran by Mr. Zizzlebang.
He works with his best buddy Grixx, a short green goblin. He was probably the most fun character to write. He's pure Greek chorus with a heavy dollop of absurd comedy, but he loves his friends and would do anything for them.
Watching over Tark is Seela, his hyper-intelligent yet constantly underachieving wizard friend. When we first meet her, she's checking in on Tark and making sure he doesn't accidentally murder his mother with incompetently executed healing spells.
Tark's mom, Elara, also plays a role. In the first story she's deathly ill, and her health is the primary tension. She's always there for Tark, always patient, even when she probably shouldn't be.
In Tark 2 you'll meet Marybeth, a magical prodigy and a ward of the state. She starts off with a bit of an attitude, but as the series goes on she finds a new family and becomes one of the most important characters - she is certainly my favourite character of the series. Her arc made me super emotional, and I hope you feel the same as you read through the series.
You'll also meet Clip Clop in Tark 3. She's a magically space-folding horse with the ability to talk. Despite these incredible powers, she lives in the shadow of her famous father, and wants nothing more than to forge her own path... little does she know that's exactly what she'll get!
Is there a magic system?
The Tark series has a soft magic system based on truth. If you're fully living in the moment, hiding nothing, with no intention but to share and to love, then your magical potential is at a maximum. To lie and deceive with magic, you have to fully believe in the lie, and that makes the evil side of magic in this series so terrifying!
Will I enjoy the Tark series?
If you like absurd comedy and rich characters, then you'll love the Tark series. If you prefer more serious fantasy, then the series might not be for you. But I've tried to make sure that the absurd elements don't detract from the character drama. There are plenty of emotional moments in the series that stand on their own and aren't undercut too much by the laughs.
Is the series completed?
Yes, the Tark series is complete, with all seven stories available to buy and read on Amazon.
Are there audiobooks?
Not yet - but I'll produce them if there's enough of a demand.
Where can I start with the Tark series?
The books are in a linear order, so start with Tark 1! This first book in the series is $0.99/£0.99 or free with a Kindle Unlimited subscription.
